Inauguration 2013 - Samaavesh



Bangalore, Karnataka, June 7 2013 – Symbiosis Institute of Business Management Bengaluru, hosted Inauguration, Samaavesh and Guest Lectures 2013, a formal introduction to management course spread over a period of five days.

DAY 1:

Over the years, Samaavesh has become an integral part of the induction program held at SIBM Bangalore to acquaint the fresh faces with the seniors of both SIBM Pune and Bangalore. Samaavesh is a platform for the newcomers to get a feel of their institute, to understand the industry and is organized by the college Alumni Committee.

Samaavesh provides a meeting ground for interaction between the alumni, who are working in various reputed companies, and the promising talent at SIBM who would be leading the industry in the not so distant future. Additionally, it encourages active participation of the alumni in shaping the future of the bright minds.

This year SIBM had the company of Navdeep and Kulbhushan Chattoo on its campus. Navdeep is currently working with iGATE Global Solutions Pvt Ltd as an Associate Consultant. He has previously worked with Tech Mahindra as a Quality Control Analyst. Kulbhushan is lending his expertise to Business Development for Biocon.

Neel Gala, a student from the junior batch says, “The interaction with alumni helped us gain a lot of clarity as to how to approach these two years in SIBM and seeing them gave a lot of confidence and belief in ourselves”

Jaiveer Duggal, an organizer from the senior batch and the coordinator of Alumni Committee quotes “The candid interaction with the alumni turned out to be a learning experience for both the students and the alumni. Samaavesh provided a launch pad from where dreams of a competent lot of young minds could take off.”

DAY - 2

The second day was reserved for the Inauguration of MBA course for 2013-2015 batch wherein SIBM had Mr. Srikar Reddy, the CEO and MD of Sonata Software Ltd. and Mr. Ashwini Mehra, Chief General Manager at State Bank of India as chief guests. Mr. Ashwini gave the students an insight into the Finance sector. Director Dr. Rajesh Panda and Deputy Director Dr. Ajith Kumar felicitated the guests and also addressed the new batch and extended a warm welcome.

DAY – 3-5

The following 3 days SIBM students had Industry Interactions with notable speakers like

 and a few other eminent industry professionals addressing the students as to how take the maximum out of this unique opportunity of learning in the two years.


The speakers gave students a glimpse of what is in store for them over the next two years, and more importantly, the corporate life that would follow. It acquainted the students with numerous vistas that exist in the current market, as well as the new ones that are mushrooming every day. A topic discussed by almost all guests was the current struggle of incorporating ethical practices in the framework of market-based ideologies. The energy and excitement were contagious. It was a humbling experience to see the bigwigs of the industry trying to connect on both an emotional and at a professional level with students, answering all their queries, however naive they may be. By the time the sessions concluded, students had a fair idea of how to take the maximum out of the management course. It instilled a sense of confidence among them.

It made the students realize that although MBA is a pathway fraught with adventure and risk, it is certainly one where the possibilities are endless.
